EQ / Filter
An equalizer is a set of filters that strengthen ("boost") or weaken ("cut") specific frequency regions. Stereos often have equalizers that adjust bass and treble. Audio engineers use highly sophisticated equalizers to eliminate unwanted sounds, make an instrument or voice more prominent, and enhance particular aspects of an instrument's tone.
